Gone are the days where you have to treat wrinkles with invasive facelift procedures or expensive injections. Technology has allowed doctors to develop minimally invasive procedures that treat wrinkles long-term and produce very little to no discomfort.
Thermage® is one of the newest procedures, and it’s shown to be effective at treating various signs of aging.
What Areas Can Thermage® Be Used On?
Thermage® is safe for the eyes, face, and body. If your eyes are hooded or you want to get rid of the fine lines on your brow, Thermage® can be a great way to treat them.
It’s also used to treat loose jowls and sagging skin around the jawline. Since signs of aging don’t just affect the face, Thermage® is able to tighten skin, smooth dimples and reduce bulges on the rest of the body. It can even improve the appearance of cellulite!
How Thermage® Works
The Thermage® laser works in four different ways to treat your skin. First, treatment starts by cooling the skin. Then the device tip may be placed on the areas that are being treated, and radiofrequency waves heat the area and force the collagen to “remodel”, creating tighter, smoother skin.
Finally, cooling cryogen is applied to fully cool the area and prevent damage to the surface of the skin. Facial treatments may be shorter when it comes to the amount of time they take. If you’re treating larger areas on the rest of the body, the procedure can take longer.
How Many Treatments Are Necessary?
Most patients report satisfying results in just one treatment, but that depends on what you’re treating and how large the area is.
Am I a Good Candidate?
If you’re looking to firm and tone your skin, reduce the appearance of wrinkles or temporarily minimize your cellulite, Thermage® could definitely be the ideal option for you!
With little discomfort reported and virtually no downtime required to recover, this procedure suits even the busiest of lifestyles.
